BREAKING: Abia Labour Party Candidate Escapes High Profile Assassination

Abia State would have recorded a high-profile assassination, if not for fortunate intervention of nature as assassins reportedly invaded the home of Engr Chinedu Onyeizu, the Abia South Senatorial Candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the just concluded 2023 general election.

From an eyewitness account, Candidreporters.com gathered that
Engr Onyeizu’s house was invaded by three heavily-armed gunmen on Friday.

A detailed account also revealed that the assistants stormed the Abayi Ohanze country home of the Labour Party’s senatorial candidate in Abia South on Friday nigh and held his brothers who were in the compound hostage for over two hours and demanded to be led to where he (Onyeizu) was.

When told under gunpoint that he was not around, the gunmen insisted that it couldn’t be true since he was seen earlier in the day at the burial of Chief Vincent Oghulafor.

Not satisfied that Onyeizu was not at home, and after ransacking the entire compound in search of him, the gunmen manhandled the victims, took all their phones before fleeing with their motorcycles.

When contacted, Onyeizu, who was terribly disturbed by the development, wondered why anyone would be after his life. He vowed that no amount of assassination attempts on his life would cow him into abandoning his mandate. While crying out to the security agencies for protection, he asked for a thorough investigation into what he described as a ‘dastardly but cowardly act’ in order to unmask the persons behind this act and their sponsor or sponsors.
