The Management and Staff of the Livelihood Improvement Family Enterprises – Niger Delta (LIFE-ND) Project, Abia State, heartily congratulate His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, Governor of Abia State, on the successful completion of three years of purposeful, visionary and development-driven leadership.
Over the past three years, your administration has embarked on an unprecedented transformation agenda that has repositioned Abia State as one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing sub-national economies. Through prudent fiscal management, transparency and a commitment to people-centred governance, your government has restored public confidence in governance and accelerated infrastructure development across the state.
Notably, your administration has delivered extensive road infrastructure projects across Abia State, including the reconstruction and rehabilitation of major urban and rural roads, opening up communities, facilitating commerce, reducing transportation costs and improving the ease of doing business. The transformation of critical road corridors in Aba, Umuahia and several rural communities has become a visible testament to your commitment to sustainable development and economic revitalization.
Your administration’s achievements also extend to healthcare, education, transportation, urban renewal, environmental sanitation, public sector reforms, security enhancement and economic development. The rehabilitation of health facilities, investments in educational infrastructure, improved waste management systems, modernization of public institutions and strategic interventions in security have laid a strong foundation for inclusive growth and prosperity.
We are particularly proud of your remarkable achievements in agriculture and youth development, which have repositioned agriculture as a major driver of economic growth, food security and employment generation in Abia State. Through strategic support for agribusiness development, rehabilitation of rural access roads, promotion of agricultural value chains and strengthening of partnerships with development agencies, your administration has created a more enabling environment for farmers, agripreneurs and investors.
Your unwavering support to the IFAD-assisted LIFE-ND Project, especially through the timely release of counterpart funding and strong policy backing, has significantly enhanced the project’s impact on rural livelihoods and economic empowerment.
Under your leadership and with the active support of the Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Cliff Agbaeze, the LIFE-ND Project has successfully empowered over 4,379 beneficiaries in 100 communities across 10 Local Government Areas through sustainable agribusiness enterprises in fisheries, poultry, rice, cassava, oil palm and related value chains.
The project has provided training, mentorship, enterprise incubation, start-up support and market linkages to thousands of youths, women, women-headed households and vulnerable persons, thereby creating jobs, reducing poverty and strengthening food security across the state.
Today, Abia State has emerged as a model for inclusive agricultural development, infrastructure renewal and youth-driven enterprise growth, reflecting your vision of building a prosperous, resilient and self-reliant economy.
As you celebrate this important milestone, we salute your courage, foresight, integrity and unwavering dedication to the service of Ndi Abia. Your administration’s achievements in infrastructure development, economic revitalization, healthcare improvement and agricultural transformation have set a new benchmark for governance and public service delivery in Abia State.
