The Abia State Council of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) has congratulated Governor Alex Otti on his successful three years in office, commending his administration’s interventions in the healthcare sector and welfare of health workers in the state.
In a felicitation message signed by the Chairman of the association, Mrs. Ngozi Dike, and the Secretary, Mrs. Essienabasi Emem, the association praised Governor Otti for his deliberate efforts to reposition healthcare delivery in Abia State and improve the welfare of nurses and midwives.
The association particularly commended the governor for prioritising the healthcare sector through the employment of nurses and midwives, as a major boost to the state’s health workforce and service delivery.
NANNM also lauded the payment of salaries of reinstated nurses and midwives across the state, noting that the gesture had improved morale among healthcare professionals and enhanced efficiency in service provision.
The association noted that the revitalisation and improved functionality of primary healthcare centres, as well as the construction and rehabilitation of access roads to health facilities, have contributed significantly to improving healthcare access for residents.
The nurses and midwives further congratulated Governor Otti for giving governance “a new meaning” and inspiring confidence among residents through policies aimed at building a better Abia State.
They expressed optimism about the future of the state under the present administration and prayed for divine wisdom, strength, and guidance for the governor as he continues to lead the state.
