Following the Victory verdict for the executive Governor of Abia State Dr. Alex Otti OFR at the Tribunal on Friday, the State Coordinator of BETTER ABIA 2023 group Comrade Ifeanyi Ihunweze has applauded the panel of judge’s ruling on the Abia Gubernatorial Election Tribunal held at Umuahia.
Ifeanyi extolled the Governor on the resounding judgment which showed unwavering support he got with the vote windfall that Abia electorates gave him on the 18th March 2023 even after the election was shifted from the earlier date.

“The coordinator cum Convener Better Abia 2023 group wishes to congratulate Abians and say one more big thank you to all his members across the 17LGAs including the leaders of the group who has persevered from the time of election to today while keeping hope alive that Abia has fallen on a better hand following our support all this while.
“We decided not to make too much noises like some faceless groups who are running what is called “Agbata ekee” as it is called in our Ibo dialect whereby they seek for funds and regroup in far away Abuja & Lagos upholding a script that was handed over to them may be after collecting peanuts forgetting that Dr. Alex Otti’s victory is a prayer well-answered by the mandate given to the Governor since we have tried in 2015 and 2019 while ensuring that the worst cannot happen in 2023 because we were determined at our various polling units to defend the votes with all our strength including the support we got from some repentant opposition groups who joined in adopting the governor’s candidature before the election.
“Once more, we say congratulations to you the people’s Governor while we continue to pray for your success in the Abia administration and ask the opposition candidates to accept this verdict and join in moving Abia State to a better level which has already started even without the normal Court distractions.
“The people of Abia will be happy to see the opposition stop the dragging of the matter to another level which will still favour the general Abia populace if they wish to continue on the adventure, the Group Coordinator reiterated.
