The earlier reported impeachment of RT. Enyinnaya Chinedum Orji, Speaker of Abia state House of Assembly has gotten a new twist as a sitting was conveyed and headed by the embattled speaker after the impeachment move went viral.
In a video seen by candidreporters.com, RT. Hon. Chinedum Orji was seen heading the sitting among lawmakers present in the house of assembly complex.
In the speakers pronouncement during the sitting, nine lawmakers were suspended for one month.
The suspension of the lawmakers followed the earlier organized impeachment of RT. Chinedum Orji which he and other loyal lawmakers to him has described as a ‘charade’.
The sitting lawmakers also unanimously elected Hon. Mandela Obasi as the substantive deputy speaker of the Abia Assembly.
The suspended lawmakers are:
Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Uchendu Rt. Hon. Kennedy Njoku
Hon. Chikwendu Kalu
Hon. Chukwudi Apugo
Hon. Aaron Uzodike
Hon. Thomas Nkoro
Hon. Okey Igwe
Hon. Obinna Ichita
Hon. Chijioke Chukwu.
