The executives of youth In Agriculture foundation in Niger Delta, Abia state chapter on Friday in Umuahia paid a courtesy visit to the project coordinator, Livelihood Improvement Family Enterprises(LIFAD), Uchendu Rowland Onyeizu.
The chairman of the foundation, Uko Ogbonna in his speech, thanked the Dr. Uchendu for giving them audience . He also thanked Abia state governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu for the payment of counterpart funds of all word bank assisted projects in Abia state, such as LIFAD, and also providing the logistics for smooth running of related projects in the state.
Uko Ogbonna seeks Harmonious working relation with the current LIFAD executives.
Dr. Uchendu in his speech thanked the union leaders for the courtesy visit and wished to work with them and also briefed them about the selection process of the LIFAdD prospective farmers screening.
His words: “Because I want this project to succeed, I have been able to remove bias in the selection of prospective farmers. I know how young persons react. Once they go into something and it doesn’t look interesting or engaging, they loose interest.
” It’s also good for us to look at those that has the flare for Agriculture. We are also looking at those who will look into another level such as bringing Agriculture to the social media.
” In recommending whoever is ur member, who wants to be self employed, let’s also ensure that the person comes from within your committee. In as much as we have projects, we also have limited funds therefore we can only do the things that are within the provisions of the fund”. Unchena said.
Dr. Unchena assured the executives that he is Willing to work with the executives of youth In Agriculture foundation in Niger Delta, Abia state chapter and whatever in beyond his approval will be channeled to the executive body.
