The Ukwa-la-Ngwa Council of Elders, on Wednesday received with great shock the sad demise of Prof Uche Eleazer IKonne, the Abia State Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) gubernatorial candidate.
In a condolence statement signed by the leader of the Elders council, Dr Max Nduaguibe, the social cultural group prayed the family to have the heart to bear the unfortunate loss.
The statement reads;
It is with a heart full of regret that ukwa la ngwa council of elders learnt from the statement from his son, Dr. Chikezie uche ikonne, the demise of prof. Uche IKonne, who until his death was the governorship candidate of the peoples democratic party (PDP) in Abia State.
We pray for the repose of the soul of this great son of Nsulu, ngwaland, of Abia State.
While we condole the family he left behind, he, nevertheless, died in active service to the father land.
May his soul rest in peace.
