Abia State National Assembly Liaison Officer, Chief Iheanyi Frank Chinasa, is urging Abia students to take advantage of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) policy as the agency begins its next award cycle for the 2024/2025 academic session.

Speaking during an interactive session with youths, Chief Chinasa revealed that NELFUND has disbursed ₦22 billion in loans to 215,514 students and ₦12 billion in upkeep support to 169,144 students since its inception in 2023.

Chief Chinasa encouraged Abia students in federal or state institutions of higher learning to apply for the next award cycle, which commences on February 22. Applications should be made online via the NELFUND portal at (link unavailable)

He emphasized the importance of education in national, regional, and state development, praying for the successful inclusion of many Abia youths in the next phase of the NELFUND scheme.
