Honourable Benjamin Kalu, member representing Bende federal constituency in the Federal House of Representatives on Tuesday revealed an appointee of the Abia state governor who he said is causing serious demoralizing set back for proposed housing Estate due to the State.

The legislature gave the latest revelation during a live radio interview program on FLo FM 94.9 Umuahia.

Hon Benjamin Kalu revealed that one of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s appointee who is the general manager of Abia State Estate Development Authority, ABSEDA has caused a major set back on projects he has attracted to the state.

In his words: ” One appointee of governor Okezie Ikpeazu who I have been calling for one week and has refused to pick his call is Mr. Okechukwu, he is the GM of ABSEDA. This is how am going to be calling those people who don’t want to support, and they hinder the progress of the state.

“What are you doing to do? You are not going to do anything! Am going to tell Abians that you are holding back what belongs to them.”

Hon Kalu emphasized the need of calling out the names the governor’s appointees who creates bottle neck for the projects he labour to attract to the state.

” Am calling him(Mr Okechukwu) because am here working with the government, am here seeing opportunities. I spend money and time around here for my aides to brings out opportunities that will benefit my state, the state is not paying me for it, I see it as my own support to benefit the state, and when I reach out to the agency that is in charge of that particular issue and he takes one week or two to answer my calls and to relate with me, that is a dis-service to the state government and to Abia people.” Hon Kalu revealed.

Hon Kalu also revealed that Abia state has seventeen projects in housing that was approved for the state by federal government of Nigeria. He also added that the first phase of the project has commenced which the state governor has approved a piece of land for the project.

“The governor approved! but the documentation needed by the controller in Abia state in charge of housing to do this job has not come from this GM, why is he holding it?”. Hon Kalu asked.

He also hinted that if the project is executed in Abia state, a lot of people will benefit from it. Hon Kalu applauded the government of governor Okezie Ikpeazu and the federal government for approving the project.

Hon Kalu hinted that any appointee of governor Okezie Ikpeazu who hinders the project he attracted to the state will be exposed henceforth.

” Very soon I will announce their phone numbers on this program so that everyone can call you and ask you why.

“Do you know that Ebonyi state and Anambra state wants to take our project? You know the reason? It is because there is no land. How can there be no land?. I have told the governor, if you don’t have land, I have land. But this one, the governor has approved a piece of land for the development of this project that will accommodate a lot of Abians and the GM is sitting on it. I want him(GM) to take a good step towards reconciling this. I owe him no apology because I called him for one week and he has refused to pick my call. Next, I will pick another person, I am going to be calling all of you who are representing all these agency, that is my own way of representing my state. If you are given a job, it is not for the interest of your party or just to please the governor but for the state. Why are you sitting for the documentation? Hon Kalu questioned.

Hon Benjamin Kalu is a member of the All progressive Congress political party while the incumbent governor of the state, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu is of the peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
