President Muhammadu Buhari is currently meeting with the new service chiefs at the presidential villa in Abuja.
The president appointed the new service chiefs on Tuesday.
The new service chiefs are Lucky Irabor, chief of defence staff; Ibrahim Attahiru, chief of army staff; Awwal Gambo, chief of naval staff; and Isiaka Amao, chief of air staff.
Their appointment comes after numerous calls for the sack of the former Service Chiefs over the increasing insecurity in the country.
As far back as July, the Nigerian Senate had called on the service chiefs to step aside.
