Kelechi Anosike, Abia the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has boosted that the PDP is the strongest political party in Abia State and if elected into office in the 2027 election, he will change the narratives of governance in Abia state.
Anosike made the statement during a media briefing in Umuahia on Thursday.
The press briefing also had Abraham Amah, the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Abia State, Enyinnaya Appolos, Vice Chairman for the Abia South Senatorial Zone and other party stakeholders. He denied any alliance with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next general election as well as to be held responsible for any short comings of the primary election that produced Kelechi Anosieke. Amah however said the PDP has is not factionalised in Abia and everything is being done to make the party more formidable in Abia state.
Anosike in his submission, said he is running for Abia Gubernatorial race because he has prepared for it for long. He also hinted that no one is bankrolling him on his political ambition.
Responding to other questions fed by journalists during the briefing, on tackling the pockets of insecurity creepping in the state, he said if elected he tackle it but will not reveal his tactics on how to improve security in Abia State but he will ensure to utilize the security votes allocated to Abia State judiciously.
On the issue of local government autonomy, Anosieke said if elected by Abians, he will ensure there will be a review of how local government funds are disbursed and utilized in Abia State.
On workers welfare, he boosted that he will increase the minimum wage of Abians to 90,000 as well as grant car loans.
“”I’m a welfarist, our approach is different, if it is due to you, it’s yours, what the law says is what we will do, if it is meant for Umuahia North, the money will be seen and used to develop Umuahia North and same for other local government areas, as a lawyer, we will look at the local government autonomy judgement and see the best we can do with it. Anosike said.
Anosike praised president Tinubu for the removal of fuel subsidy which he said has improved the federal allocation of all states in Nigeria and expects more from the government of Abia. He however acknowledged the infrastructural development of governor Alex Otti and boasted to do better if elected.
“My government will be a government that cares, and will take care of the welfare of his people, I’m a welfarist, I’m not saying this because I want to run for election, ask my staff, I buy cars for them, we’re one of the few law firms that gives out cars every two years, the least got Mercedes 350”. Anosike said.
Anosike said he is prepared for the Abia State guber come 2027 and ready to convince Abians when campaigns begins.
Anosike however assured that the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike is the national leader of PDP and the party has no faction,
