Members of Nigeria Forest Services known as Forest guards, commercial drivers, farmers and traders in Akure, Ondo state capital stormed the streets of Akure, protesting in support of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu order to herdsmen to vacate forest reserves in the state within seven days.

The protesters were seen with placards of various inscriptions such as “Kudos to Akeredolu, criminals must be ejected from our forest reservers”, “Akure south says no to rearing of cows in the night ” Bandits must leave” etc, urging the Ondo Governor not to back down on his directive.

Comrade Jacob Adejo, Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers , said commercial drivers were no longer safe in the state as herders attacked them with impunity as well as kidnapped them before now.
