Thirty students and a teacher of the Federal Government College (FGC), Birnin Yauri, of Kebbi State abducted by bandits, have regained their freedom.

The Kebbi government through the special adviser on media to the governor, Yahaya Sarki, confirmed the development on Saturday.

In June 2021, some gunmen stormed the school and abducted many students and teachers.

The gunmen invaded the school on motorcycles and engaged police officers in a crossfire — wounding some of the students, while one died in the process.
