Bishop Dr Emeka Nwankpa, the Accord Party governorship candidate in Abia State, has described Abians as the ‘most dogged, creative and industrious people in the world who are determined to survive against all odds.’
In his New Year Message to Abians, Bishop Emeka Nwankpa said, ‘I have not seen a set of people so determined to succeed than the people of Abia State. It takes only the lionhearted to survive in the midst of the myriad of constraints confronting Abia State. Is it the worst road infrastructure, poor educational and healthcare facilities, bad government policies, non-payment of workers’ salaries and pensions, flooding that ravaged Ariaria, or multiple taxation? In the midst of all these, Ndi Abia are still going from strength to strength, and from glory to glory. Abians are the most dogged, creative and industrious people in the world who are determined to survive against all odds. I am proud of Abians’
The revered cleric and philanthropist reminded Abians that the year 2023 provides the opportunity to elect a Governor that has the fear of God, character, courage and competence to change the ugly narrative of the state. He further advised Abians not to give those who have kept Abia in its pitiable state any chance in the March 11 governorship and state assembly elections.
The topmost governorship hopeful reaffirmed his commitment to properly harnessing the abundant human, material and natural resources with which God has blessed Abia State to place Abia among the frontline states in all developmental indices, if elected Governor.
While assuring Abians that God will not foresake the state, he appealed for the prayers and support of Abians in his governorship project and promised that the Accord Party will build a new Abia. He asked God to give Abians more blessings in 2023.
