Dr Uche Sampson Ogah has expressed satisfaction on his emergence as the flag bearer of the Abia All Progressives Congress(APC) gubernatorial candidate.

While addressing pressmen on Friday morning at the party’s secretariat in umuahia the Abia state capital about other parallel congress of the factional party, Dr Ogah said the mode of conduct as directed by the national body of the APC is direct primary election.

In his words: “If the national body says direct Primaries, the direct primaries is to show strength of popularity. What we just had is direct Primaries. I have to follow the rules of the party.” Dr Ogah said.

Dr Ogah thanked president Muhammadu Buhari who he said tasked the leadership of the APC to ensure fairness in the conduct of the primaries.

Dr Ogah thanked the delegates, the Abia APC leadership and all who worked for the successful conduct of the primaries. He also asked for more support as the general election draws near and for a better Abia.

“I thank you all, together we shall move into the government house, Dr Ogah said.”

The results of the primary election was read by the returning officer Barrister Perfect Okorie. He gave the total number of votes cast as 195, 801.

The results reads:

Alex Otti- 2, 414 votes

Prince Paul Ikonne – 27,054 votes

Emeka Atuma- 7,429 votes

Chief Ikechi Emenike- 9,446 votes

Dr Sampson Ogah -141,952 votes

Obinna Oriaku – 5,553 votes

Daniel Eke – 1,953 votes

Dr Uche Sampson Ogah was decleared winner of the direct primary election as announced by Barrister perfect Okorie.
