A federal high court in Abuja has ordered the remand of Omoyele Sowore, presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC). The court ordered that Sowore will be at the Kuje Correctional Centre pending the hearing of his application challenging the revocation of his bail. Forty two South African nationals have been deported from Ireland back to Johannesburg. According to reports from The Irish Times on June 19, 2026, the deportees were reported to be living in Ireland illegally, they arrived in a chartered flight on Friday. Two of the individuals included in the deportation group held criminal convictions in Ireland. The deportees included nine men, 18 women, and 15 children.
