The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has been ordered by a federal high court sitting in Abuja not to further release financial allocations to the Rivers state government. The court held that monies from the federation account should not be released to the state pending the passage of a lawful appropriation act by a validly constituted house of assembly. Two pastors of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has been suspended over allegations of homosexuality. CANDID REPORTERS gathered on Tuesday that the suspension is contained in a memo dated October 28, 2024, and signed by Sunday Akande, its national overseer. The Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, has summoned some judges over conflicting rulings on political cases in Rivers State. The police have arrested Abia lawmaker, Hon. Alex Mascot Ikechegh, over alleged assault on a Bolt driver in Abuja. The Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Police Command on Monday affirmed the arrest.
