The Young Progressives Party (YPP) in Abia state has successfully concluded her state house of assembly, federal house of assembly and senatorial primary elections in Abia State.
The party’s primary election for the 24 state Constituencies was conducted on Wednesday June 2, 2022, while the primary election for the 3 senatorial districts and the federal house of assembly was conducted and concluded on Friday June 3, 2022.
The indirect mode of primary election adopted by the party was held on approved various location across the 24 state Constituencies approved by INEC in Abia state has been adjudged by observers as the best organized, free and fair primary election in Abia state.
According to the Party’s Chairman, Hon. Nelcinn Uluocha who spoke to candidreporters.com correspondence also affirmed the smooth conduct of the indirect primary election monitored by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) and Department of State Services(DSS) .The returning officers was said to have arrived at the coalition center on time.
In his words: “As you can see, the conduct of the election was free and fair, the aspirants were happy over the smooth conduct of the indirect primaries. As you can see, no one is quarrelling with each other here. Those that lost in the primary election lost honourably.”
Hon. Nelcinn also urged Abians to get their Permanent Voters Card, PVC, ready for the general election. He also affirmed that YPP is the political party to associate with to bring the desired change in Abia state.
Hon. Nelcinn also said that YPP as a party and her candidates are ready to participate in any organized debate in the state to sell themselves and prove to Abians how qualified they are for public office.
“YPP will sweep the polls in Abia come 2023. You can see that here in Abia you haven’t heard of any descripancy on the manner and mode of conducting our primaries” Hon. Nelcinn added.
