The Abia Rejoice Movement has backed Uche Ogah, former Minister for Mines and Steel Development in his support for the administration of Governor Alex Otti.
Abia Rejoice Movement described the press statement of Uche Aguoru, the publicity Secretary of Abia All Progressives Congress (APC) as poorly reasoned.

The attention of the Abia Rejoice Movement has been drawn to the unnecessarily alarmist, emotionally charged, and poorly reasoned statement issued by one Mr. Uche Aguoru, on behalf of APC in Abia State, concerning Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah’s support for Gov. Otti and political stand in Abia.
Quite frankly, the entire outburst is as revealing as it is amusing.
For a party that repeatedly insists that Dr. Uche Ogah is merely a “suspended member” with no relevance, the disproportionate anxiety, rhetorical aggression, and political energy deployed against him betrays a deeper truth that the Abia APC is far more unsettled than it cares to admit. One would reasonably expect that a supposedly insignificant figure would not trigger such an avalanche of statements, threats, and public dramatics.
This raises a fundamental question: who, exactly, is unsettling the APC, Dr. Uche Ogah, or its own internal contradictions?
It is both ironic and instructive that a party battling issues of cohesion, identity, and electoral credibility has chosen to elevate an internal matter into a public spectacle. In doing so, the APC has inadvertently amplified the very voice it seeks to diminish.
Let it be stated without ambiguity Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah remains a committed progressive whose loyalty to the leadership, vision and core value of APC stands firm, consistent, and unquestionable. Political alignment at the national level does not preclude the capacity for objective assessment at the state level. This is what distinguishes statesmanship from blind partisanship.
What the APC in Abia State appears to be resisting is not disloyalty, but independence of thought.
In a functioning democracy, the ability to acknowledge performance regardless of party lines is not betrayal; it is intellectual honesty. The refusal to do so, on the other hand, is what reduces political engagement to mere propaganda.
The reality confronting the APC is simple governance in Abia State is being evaluated by citizens based on visible outcomes, not partisan directives. Across critical sectors be it infrastructure renewal, administrative reforms, or economic reorganization there is a growing public perception that governance has taken a more pragmatic and results-oriented direction.
This explains why voices across political divides are beginning to reflect that reality. Suppressing such voices will not change public perception; it will only deepen the APC’s disconnect from it.
Furthermore, the attempt to frame every deviation from party orthodoxy as “sabotage” reflects a troubling intolerance for dissent. A political party that cannot accommodate differing opinions within its ranks risks becoming an echo chamber detached from both reality and the electorate.
On the matter of discipline, it is worth noting that credibility is not enforced through threats, nor is loyalty sustained through intimidation. Strong political institutions are built on ideas, inclusion, and trust not fear.
The Abia APC’s fixation on Dr. Uche Ogah also exposes a strategic vacuum. At a time when Abians expect opposition parties to present clear policy alternatives, innovative ideas, and constructive engagement, few power mongers and cheerleaders in Abia APC have instead chosen to invest its energy in personality attacks and narrative control.
This is neither persuasive nor sustainable.
The Abia Rejoice Movement firmly rejects any attempt to distort the ongoing transformation in the state. The progress being witnessed is not theoretical; it is practical, visible, and increasingly acknowledged by the people whose lives are directly impacted.
No volume of press statements can overwrite lived experience.
We therefore urge the APC in Abia State to recalibrate its approach to move away from reactionary politics and toward meaningful engagement. The people of Abia deserve an opposition that contributes to development, not one that is perpetually at war with its own shadows.
As for the continued obsession with Dr.Uche Ogah, we suggest a simple remedy if he is truly irrelevant, then treat him as such. If not, then perhaps the APC should begin the more difficult task of introspection.
Conclusively, ahead of the 2027 gubernatorial election in Abia, let this serve as a clear warning that Dr. Uche Ogah is not a small figure in Abia politics, and those drawing the battle line with him should remember what happened in 2023. Ignore Dr. Uche Ogah at your own peril.
Abia politics must evolve beyond cycles of accusation and defensiveness. The priority must remain the advancement of the state, the welfare of its people, and the consolidation of governance that delivers measurable results.
In the end, history is rarely kind to noise it remembers clarity, courage, and contribution.
Signed
Abia Rejoice Movement
