Ambassador Osita Offor “Ultimate Commander” , the Senatorial Candidate of the African Democratic party(ADC) has opined that Senator Orji Uzor Kalu(OUK), Senator representing Abia North in the red chambers has stayed too long in government.
The wrestling champion who is contesting to represent Abia North in the red chambers stated his position on Friday during a live radio debate organized by the Abia State Election Debate Group.
Amb Osita said OUK; haven served as house of representatives member, governor of Abia state and serving senator, he believes he should leave the political positions for other younger ones to give their contribution.
“He has lost focus, he does not represent the Orji Kalu that we used to know. Orji Kalu those days was a symbol of a governor, when you mention Orji Kalu in those days, everybody wants to welcome you.” Ambassador Osita said.
“He has being there for too long, when you have the energy to represent the people, and the passion for you to help your people, and you start seeing yourself as a lord for the people, it becomes very difficult for you to touch the challenges of the people. Senator Orji Kalu builds roads and sees it as the major priority of the people. For God’s sake, these are normal things in western world and everywhere.
“You can’t say because you have built a road that is not from your personal pocket, for that reason you talk to the people the way you want and in a manner that is not pleasant to the ear”. Ambassador Osita added.
Amb. Osita also lamented that as a governor, Senator Kalu refused to help him when he won the African Heavy Weight Championship.
In his words:”Personally he was unable to help me, he was a governor and I won the undisputed African Heavy Weight Championship , he invited me to Abia State and I arrived Abia state with a whole lot of people, international media and all that, he sent a message to me that he had an emergency and he was traveling to London. You let me travel all the way to Nigeria, and several occasions.”
The Abia North Senatorial Election Debate only had Barrister Carol Dike-Okorafor (APGA), Senator Mao Ohuabunwa (PDP) and Ambassador Osita Offor “Ultimate Commander” (ADC) as participants.
Other candidates absent from the debate are; Senator Orji Uzor Kalu (APC), Ambassador Nnamdi Iro (Labour Party), Dr. Ahanna Igwe (YPP).
