Senator Emmanuel Chiedoziem Nwaka of the peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Abia State Chapter has officially decleared to run for governorship position in Abia State.
Nwaka made the declaration on Wednesday at the party’s secretariat in Umuahia, the state capital.
Emma Nwaka served as PDP party chairman for five years (2011 to 2015).
The event was attended by party faithfuls in their large number.
Senator Nwaka hails from Oguduasa in Isuikwuato Local Government Area of Abia State.
Abia state political space is currently on the debate oF which zone should the mantle of leadership shift to.
In the speech of Sen. Nwaka during the deceleration event, he said, “And talking about our founding fathers, their quest was for a well developed state with modern amenities. In their wisdom, they saw fit to make it clear in the Abia Charter of Equity that none of the four constituent districts of the State, Viz: Old Afikpo(part of Abia then), Old Bende , Isuikwuato District and the Old Aba District must not be left out particularly in the rotation of the topmost job in the state. This is the spirit of Onyeagjala Nwanneya.”
A candid enquiry into the Emma Nwaka CV revealed that he represented Abia North in the third Republic, and has also served Abia state in various capacity including commissioner and special adviser. He was also a non-exclusive director of the defunct African Continental Bank and also a member of the governing council of Abia State University, Uturu.
Also in his speech during the event, Senator Nwaka affirmed the importance of recognizing his party’s structure.
In his words: “I recognize that I am not all alone in the race for PDP gubernatorial ticket though I believe strongly that I am the best man to pick it if fidelity to the party in good and bad times; credibility and integrity are trait to be considered. And they should be.”
In an acceptance speech by the PDP chairman RT. Hon. Alwell Asiforo Okere, he said senator Nwaka’s aspiration to run gives him hope as a party leader.”
“Am boldly and proudly to say that we have a qualified aspirant. But if others will come, we will put all of them at the same level just as he has requested and that is my way of telling Abians about all the aspirants. We are going to give everyone equal opportunity and we will not faill to reward hard work.” Hon. Alwell said.

Senator Nwaka is the first to declear interest to run for governorship position in Abia State come 2023 under the peoples Democratic party(PDP).
