It’s about time his brother priests and all those who still have any iota of regards for The Rev. Fr. Ejike Camilius Mbaka told him that it’s about time he respected himself and his office as a priest and left Peter Obi alone!
It’s a shame, a repugnant one that shouldn’t be associated with a man ordained to shepard God’s people to be found so enmeshed and immersed in the ugly love for money of which the Holy Bible he preaches from warned against:
“But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
—1 Timothy 6:9 and 10
It does appear that the above injunction from Paul the apostle is not for a being like Fr Mbaka hence he has over the years left his core mandate as a priest to chasing material wealth that has swiftly turned him into a political priest used to carry out hatchet jobs he calls prophecies, prophecies that are released only whenever elections are around the corner and in accordance with the amount of money presented and who presented it—it doesn’t matter if it comes from thieves who, all through their political history have subjugated the people and cornered their common patrimony—no, it never matters to Mbaka provided he sees cash.
It therefore never surprised anyone who has known Fr. Mbaka for whom he really is when during his so-called bazaar in December 2018, a year to the 2019 general elections—just as he is doing now, embarrassed himself thinking he was embarrassing Governor Peter Obi whom he futilely tried to disrespectfully cajole into donating cash to his ministry.
Obviously, Fr Mbaka has not forgiven Gov. Obi over that encounter and for not yielding to his inordinate demands four years ago, hence his renewed show of shame on the person of Gov. Peter Obi who he attacked recently over his ambition to truly rescue Nigeria from the locusts ravaging Nigeria which unfortunately a priest like Fr Mbaka has been benefiting from even as they have succeeded in bringing Nigeria on her knees.
The Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka as a priest, should really be ashamed to have become a tool in the hands of rogues to dissuade a well-intentioned person like His Excellency, Gov. Peter Obi from putting Nigeria aright through his very unfortunate campaign of calumny.
While it is noted, the several steps taken and efforts made in the past by His Lordship, The Most Rev. Callistus Valentine Onaga, the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese to bring this money-minded priest to order, the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) must not be silent over Fr Mbaka’s bad behaviour, more drastic action should be taken against him, or better still; Fr. Mbaka has the option to give priesthood a break and venture fully into politics like his counterpart, the now suspended Rev Fr. Hyacinth Alia of the Catholic Diocese of Gboko, Benue State, did seeking to succeed Governor Samuel Ortom in 2023.
The Enugu Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka recently declared that the Labour Party Presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi can never be Nigeria’s President.
