NIGERIA @65: Ogah Writes Nigerians

My beloved fellow Nigerians,

As our dear country clocks 65 years of independence, my heart is filled with gratitude to God and with hope for the destiny of our nation. Today is not just an anniversary, it is a reminder of the courage and sacrifices of our founding fathers who fought for the freedom we now enjoy. Their vision and resilience gave birth to a sovereign Nigeria, and we must never take that gift for granted.

Our journey has not been without trials. We have walked through seasons of civil strife, economic hardship, and leadership challenges. Yet, in the face of all these, the spirit of Nigerians has remained strong, determined, and unbroken. That resilience is proof that we are destined to rise above difficulties and attain greatness as a people.

At this moment in our history, I urge every Nigerian not to lose faith in the dream of a prosperous nation. Patriotism is not measured by words alone but by the little contributions we each make to build our country. From the highest offices of government to the villages and communities, we all share the duty of rebuilding Nigeria.

Let us also remember that our diversity is not a weakness but a profound strength. Whether Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, or any of the numerous ethnic groups, we are first Nigerians. Our unity, tolerance, and mutual respect remain the strongest foundations for peace and progress.

To our vibrant and dynamic youths, I salute your energy, creativity, and courage. You are the beating heart of Nigeria’s future. Do not allow despair to hold you down. Embrace innovation, pursue excellence, and lift this country to new heights in technology, industry, and global influence.

As we celebrate 65 years of independence, let this be more than a time of festivities. Let it be a solemn call to action. Let us renew our commitment to justice, hard work, and sacrifice. Together, we can build the Nigeria of our dreams — a nation that stands tall among the comity of nations.

I believe with all my heart that the future of Nigeria is bright. With unity, faith, and collective determination, we shall fulfill our destiny as the giant of Africa and a beacon of hope to the world.
