As part of its commitment to sustainable community development and strengthening host community relations, Ibom Developers FZE has supported the restoration of electricity in Ohanso Umumba Ama-Ano Ndoki Community, Ukwa East Local Government Area of Abia State.
The presentation, which took place on Saturday, was made on behalf of the company by the Community Development Programmes Coordinator, Ms. Grace Inyang, who reaffirmed the company’s commitment to delivering on its promises and fostering meaningful partnerships with its host communities.
Speaking during the presentation, Ms. Inyang noted that Ibom Developers FZE has consistently maintained a reputation for making positive impacts wherever it operates, adding that the contribution was a fulfilment of an earlier commitment made by the company to support the community’s electricity restoration project.
She commended the leadership and people of Ohanso Umumba Ama-Ano Ndoki Community for their maturity, understanding, and willingness to engage the company through constructive dialogue.
“At Ibom Developers FZE, we believe that our presence should always leave a positive trail in every community where we operate. Today, we are fulfilling a promise we made because we value integrity and partnership. We sincerely appreciate the maturity, openness to dialogue, and peaceful disposition demonstrated by this community. This support is another testament to our commitment to building enduring relationships and contributing to the development of our host communities,” Mrs. Inyang said.
Receiving the cheque on behalf of the community, the Head of the Community, Chief Godfrey I. Akara, expressed profound appreciation to Ibom Developers FZE for honouring its commitment.
Chief Akara confirmed that the funds had already been received in the community’s bank account and assured that immediate steps would be taken to ensure the restoration of electricity within the community.
He explained that the company’s intervention would augment the financial contributions already made by members of the community toward the project.
“We sincerely thank Ibom Developers FZE for keeping to its promise. The money has already been received in our bank account, and in the coming days, we will commence the necessary actions towards restoring electricity to our community. This support will complement the contributions already made by our people, and we assure the company that every kobo will be judiciously utilised,” he stated.
Chief Akara further described the people of the community as progressive and peace-loving, expressing optimism for stronger collaboration with the company in the years ahead.
He also acknowledged the company’s contribution to youth empowerment, noting that more than 40 youths from the community are currently employed across Ibom Developers FZE project sites, describing the development as a significant boost to the local economy and community welfare.
Also speaking, the Youth President of Ukwa East Local Government Area, Comrade Wisdom Eleliadike Akata, applauded the company for the intervention and reaffirmed the support of the youths for the company’s operations.
“I am highly impressed by this gesture. We are peace-loving and accommodating people, and the youths of this community have consistently stood by the company by offering support and protection. We are delighted to have Ibom Developers FZE operating in our area, and we sincerely appreciate the company for this support presented today. We look forward to an even stronger partnership,” he said.
In his remarks, the Community Relations Officer (CRO), Hon. Franklin Chimdiya Nwadei, reiterated the company’s commitment to sustaining cordial relations with the community, assuring stakeholders of more collaborative engagements that would promote peace, mutual trust, and shared development.
The event was attended by several community leaders and stakeholders, including Chief Chidiadi J. Nwankwo (Ohaudo Village), Chief Chigemezu Nwankwo (Ohanso Village), Chief Felix Ogolo (Ohaudo Village), Chief Eric Akara (Mkpuahia Village), and Otuka Nnanna Ezinwa (Umuator Village), among others.
The presentation further underscores Ibom Developers FZE’s commitment to responsible corporate citizenship, community partnership, and supporting initiatives that improve the quality of life of its host communities.
