The Livelihood Improvement Family Enterprises-Niger Delta (LIFE-ND) Project, on Tuesday in Umuahia, the Abia State capital entertained the visit of the traditional ruler of Ugwunagbo autonomous community in Ugwunagbo local government area of Abia state, HRH, Eze Engr. Chile Alanaba, Eze Alafor of Umunagbo autonomous community.

According to the project coordinator, Dr. Uchenna Rowland Onyeizu, the project co-coordinator (SPC) LIFE-ND, Abia state, the visit of the traditional ruler is sequel to the visit the project made to the community.

His words: ” In this project, we need land and it’s part of our infrastructural investment in the project.

“The project does not have money to buy land, it’s designed in such way.

“Because of what we are bringing to the community, most of the community will have to donate land.

” The traditional ruler came to say that they actually have more land than they promised and they were able to ask a lot of questions as regards to the land and I was able to explain to them.” Dr. Uchenna said.

However, the said portions of land is to be used by LIFE-ND for the period of ten years in other to investment and profits. The investment is between the donators of the land and direct beneficiaries of LIFE-ND.

Dr. Uchenna, took time to explain the mission of the project and the agreement on the land to be donated.

In an interview with the traditional ruler of Ugwunagbo community, HRM, Eze Engr. Chile Alanaba, about the visit, he said, “Am here to appreciate the effort of LIFE-ND. They have been coming to our community, I decided to come here today to know what they are talking about. Am very much impressed,I have understood their program, and I think we will work together.”

HRH Eze Chile expressed eagerness to see action due to the skeptic nature of his community and others .

“When government project comes we talk and talk but no action, that is why I came to see if there will be action this time around” HRH Eze Chile said.

As for the land donation, HRH Eze Chile assured LIFE-Nd that land will not be a problem or hindrance to what ever the project is out for.

“We will provide enough land for the project and protect it” HRH Eze Chile added.

HRH Eze Chile applauded the effort of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for supporting the project which he said will in turn solve the issue of youth restiveness within the communities and state.

“If implemented from the first to the last, from the way I was told, it will solve a lot of problems. It will help us as traditional rulers to get hold of our people. That is why am sticking out my neck to make sure it works out. It’s a laudable project and I thank all those behind it.” HRH Eze Chile said.
