Two officers of the Nigerian police have been killed on Tuesday in Port Harcourt, Rivers state capital.

Candidreporters.com gathered that the police officers attached to Mile One police station in Diobu, Port Harcourt were killed while conducting a stop and search.

The attack was reported to have happened at Okija street on Tuesday.

The attackers was said to arrive the scene in a vehicle and they shot at the officers who were on duty who died on the spot.

There have been cases of gunmen attacking security operatives in the state in recent times.

In May, gunmen killed seven police officers at two police stations and at a checkpoint. Vehicles belonging to the Rivers command were also set ablaze.
