Following the sack of Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State, the embattled governor has headed to the Supreme Court to contest the judgment of the Appeal Court sacking him from office.

Recall that the Appeal Court had sacked Yusuf, of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, over ineligibility to contest while declaring the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Nasiru Gawuna, winner of the governorship election in the state.

There has been confusion over the Appeal Court judgement that sacked Yusuf.

The court has asked concerned lawyers to return certified true copies of its judgement for corrections.

The Appeal Court had ruled that Yusuf was not a member of the NNPP during the election.

However, the certified true copies of the judgement triggered confusion as it indicated that the court upheld Yusuf’s victory.
