Don Lulu Foundation has graduated her first set of agro trainees who participated in the first batch Philanthropic project of Lucky Igbokwe, popular known Don Lulu.

The event titled; ‘Don Lulu Foundation Rural Youth and Women Development Program Through Agriculture” took place on Saturday at Ekwuru na Ezuru palace, Ekeoba in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State.

The beneficiaries of the empowerment/development program numbering 600 successfully completed their basic training on basic farm and poultry management which was powered by Don Lulu.

HRK Eze Iheanyichukwu Nwokenna, Oba of Ekeoba ancient kingdom, HRM Eze Nnamdi Ofoegbu, Oroko Abia, Diawa 1 of Umudiawa, chairman Ohuhu Council of traditional rulers, Eze Paul Uzuegbu and Eze Innocent Nwaigwe graced the occasion.

Also present was the Deputy Chairman of Umuahia South , Bob Agbuga.

Don Lulu in his speech said he was moved by the records from the National Bureau of Statistics which showed that about 40% of Nigerians live below poverty level, a situation which he described as a sad.

Further worried on how Nigeria got to this precarious situation, Don Lulu said “our land is blessed, with adequate seasonal rainfall and many natural/human resources.

“Our people are strong and hardworking, so what is delaying the growth of our people”. Don Lulu asked.

Don Lulu also added that he found out that human development and encouragement is just what people need to rise as the star they are .

“Don Lulu Foundation decided to step in through the “Don Lulu Foundation Rural Youth and Women Development Program Through Agriculture” he added.

Don Lulu also hinted that the agro training program will spread round the zones in Umuahia and added that it is going to be a retraining program which will aid the beneficiaries to train others.

The lead consultant of the training project, Dr Emmanuel Mgbekwute who was recognised by Don Lulu for his dedication hinted that the agro training project started with about 15 participants and having 600 graduands. Dr Emmanuel also thanked Don Lulu for keeping to his words and giving him listening attention which made the training project gain fruition.

Highlights of the event was the presentation of gifts awards to top graduating students and graduation certificate to other graduands.

The traditional rulers prayed and thanked Don Lulu for his desire to empower his people and also advised the beneficiaries to appreciate the kind gesture by becoming productive.
