The Rivers State Police Command has dismissed reports that its officers attacked staff of the Ikwerre Local Government Council this morning. PPRO Grace Iringe-Koko told our correspondent that police officers were at the council secretariat to disperse hundreds of hoodlums who had forced their way into the premises. SP Iringe-Koko explained that following an attack on some council secretariats by hoodlums on October 7, two days after the local government elections in the state, activities in the affected secretariats were restricted for safety reasons.
