The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has published the names and photographs of 124 Nigerians it says are among foreign nationals facing deportation over criminal convictions. Although the names and photographs have been released, US authorities did not indicate when the affected Nigerians would be deported. The Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja, has ordered the remand of the former Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), Danladi Umar, in the Kuje Correctional Centre. The Central Bank of Nigeria has revoked the operating licences of 46 microfinance banks across the country, citing their failure to meet key regulatory requirements for continued operations.
