Walter Onnoghen, former chief justice of Nigeria (CJN). has been discharged and acquitted by the court of appeal in Abuja. Recall that Onnoghen was suspended from office in 2019 and convicted for alleged false declaration of assets. The Zenith Labour Party, ZLP has won 15 out of the 17 Local Government Areas in the November 2, 2024 local government election in the state. The Young Progressives Party, YPP won two LGAs – Ugwunagbo and Osisioma Ngwa.
