Tribunal Grants Labour Party’s Paryers for Inspection of INEC Documents, As Otti’s Team Prepares for Legal Fireworks.

The Governorship Election Tribunal sitting in Umuahia the Abia state capital on Wednesday granted the prayers of Labour Party and the Abia Governor-Elect, Dr. Alex Otti for joint inspection of the INEC Documents with PDP and further directed that INEC avails Labour Party the Certified True Copy of all Gubernatorial nominations from the Late Prof. Uche Ikonne to Okey Ahiwe.

This would include official correspondences between the PDP and INEC on the Nomination of PDP’s Abia Deputy Governorship candidate(s)

It would be recalled that the Tribunal had earlier granted the prayers of the PDP and its candidate for the inspection of the materials used in the governorship election.

The PDP and its candidate had approached the governorship tribunal to challenge the declaration of the LP candidate, Dr. Alex Otti, an action many analysts have described as bizarre going by the overwhelming victory of Otti at the polls.

Otti whose victory drew unprecedented celebration across the state, was declared and returned as the winner of the election, almost four days after the election was concluded due to a protracted stalemate occasioned by an attempt by the PDP to bypass the INEC BVAS in a bid to produce fake results that would give them victory, unfortunately, this plot was nipped in the bud, leaving the plotters in a state of confusion, as their candidate, Ahiwe came a distant second amid violence and intimidation against INEC personnel and Labour Party Collation Agents, some of whom were brutalised and badly injured.
