The executive governor of Abia state, Dr. Alex Otti has emphasized on his interest to rebuild and reposition Abia State as the newly sworn in governor of the state.

Governor Otti recalled the challenges facing Abians to be kidnapping, non payment of salaries and gratuity, poor ease of doing business and bad roads.

While speaking in his inaugural speech on Monday in Umuahia, governor Otti pointed out that events before his swearing in shows that there must be distractions in his administration. He assured Abians that they have been liberated from bad governance and those holding the state back.

In his words: “we have been Broken from the clutches of pharaoh”.

The Governor also hinted that his government must tap into the opportunities that the modern world has offered through the use of technology.

He assured that his administration proposes to provide prosperity as he also pledged to offer support to the other arms of government in the state.

He assured that students and pupils will have access to quality and equal education and he will commence payment of salary and pension from the month of May 2023. He also assured that salaries must be paid every 28th of every month during his administration.

On the classification of civil servants structure in the state, Governor Otti assured that there will be no distinction between core and non-core civil servants.

He assured that there will be recruitment of 5000 teachers and they will not be treated without respect henceforth and all entitlements of workers will be paid under his watch.

He said special attention will be given to Aba, the commercial hub of the state to bring back the glory days of the city.

He said his team has prepared infrastructural policy to uplift all regions of the state.

Governor Otti also warned that all awards, chieftaincy and honours should not be given to him while still serving as governor of Abia state.
