Abia Government Pledges Support For Groups Championing Igbo Rejuvenation, Renaissance

The Abia state government says it will support any group or groups championing the Igbo rejuvenation and renaissance.

Commissioner for Information and Culture Prince Okey Kanu who disclosed this when members of the Ezumezu Ndigbo Royal Ordained Heritage paid him a courtesy call in his office described Igbos as people blessed with both human and natural resources.

Prince Kanu noted that Igbo values have gone to the mud and stressed the need for Ndigbo to work together to change the narrative about Igbo land.

The Information and Culture Boss commended the Ezumezu Ndigbo Royal Ordained Heritage for working hard to bring the Igbos together and informed them of the positive changes going on in the state courtesy of Governor Alex Otti.

Contributing, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Culture Sir Chris Onwuegbu thanked the group for choosing Abia to be the center of Igbo renaissance.

Speaking earlier, the leader of group and Nne Mmanwu Igboniile Lolo Chika Ibeneme said they have been going round all the South East States as well as Delta and Rivers state to revitalize and reestablish the Igbo culture which has guiding Ndigbo in all aspects of life.

She lamented that many Igbos especially youths have deviated from the Igbo spirit and engaged in anti social activities and pledged to partner Abia government to make Igbos rediscover themselves.

In a vote of thanks, a member of the group Chief Uche Okoroafor thanked Prince Kanu for the warm reception accorded them and restated their commitment in making Igbos reinvent the Igbo spirit .

Erumezu Ndigbo Royal Ordained Heritage visited Umuahia, Abia State on Monday, 4 December, 2023 on a spiritual and cultural revival mission. After detailed study of Igbo challenges resolved as follows:

1. The team noted that it visited Umuahia, Abia State to review its search on Igbo Spintual and socio-cultural renaissance and also to renew the essence of the honour conferred on Late Dim Chukwuemeka Odemuegwu Ojukwu as Ezeigbo Gurugburu, by late Adama Nri, S. O. Mbanefo. This coronation brought about the planting of Igbo kingdoms both at home and in the Diaspora.
2. It emphasized that there is a new Igbo agenda anchored on eliciting and positioning the 1gbo age group born between 1970-1976 as arrowhead of Igbo rer aissance and agenda. This age group is hoped, to accelerate a new Igbo spirituality and cultural upsurge. They ane to the the intellectual and economic foot soldiers of Igboland.
3. Exumeru noted that it aims at setting up Igbo kingdoms all over the world to restore the dignity and heritage of Ndi Igbo wherever they are.
4. They also emphasized that its aim is to reach out to patriotic Igbos it home and diaspore who would partner with it to achieve its objectives. It also hopes to elicit the sponsorship of Its set events by each of the seven states in Igboland and create Igbo communities all over the world with at least 7 countries in the diaspora.
5. It stated that the movement is continuous and would cover all states in Igboland. They have so far visited Anambra State and Abia State.
6. The team called on Ndi Abia to key into its programme and revive the Igbo cultural and spiritual ethos. Abia State remains a critical sub-set of the Igbo nation and its place in Igbo history is significant, the team noted.
7. At the end of the 12 days tour, Ezumezu would organize a four days conference to give kudas to its objectives and they would set up cabinet offices in different parts of the world. Thereafter, Ezumezu will programme events of the year from December January 2024.

B. At the end of the 12 days tour, Ezumezu will organize a 4 days conference for IGWEAGU UDOGU and 21 IGBO organizations for its objective for TRU IGBO OHUU Crusade. They will then set up cabinet officers throughout the world.
