Tajudeen Abbas, speaker of the house of representatives has been conferred the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger(GCON) by President Bola Tinubu.

The adjustment on the national honour conferment of a higher honour is suspected to be as a result of rejection and debate of rep members citing equality with the Senate.

The national honour on Abbas was made public on Friday by Bayo Onanuga, special adviser to the president on information and strategy.

Recall that the National Honour initially conferred on Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas was on Wednesday rejected by members of the House of Representatives.

The house of representative members accused President Bola Tinubu of discriminating against the lower chamber of the National Assembly after conferring a higher honour to Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
