An APC Assistant Publicity Secretary, who is also said to be the Director of Media for the Eric Opah Campaign Organisation, Mr. Eric Dwyse Ikwuagwu, has made it a daily pastime to publish and circulate FAKE news about Abia State. He does this with reckless audacity, without any regard for the panic, confusion, and reputational damage it causes.
How does one wake up and deliberately mislead the public about the appointment of a new Vice Chancellor for ABSU, when there is absolutely no such development?
Is ABSU — a citadel of learning with decades of academic excellence — now so inconsequential that its name and reputation should be dragged through the mud by those playing dirty and selfish politics?
Even if you are reckless and unconcerned about facts, shouldn’t you worry about the embarrassment you are causing the very people you claim to speak for? Misinformation does not make you look informed. It exposes the desperation behind your agenda.
Abia people are too enlightened to be deceived by recycled lies and propaganda. Governance is not a social media skit, and institutions like ABSU deserve respect, not to be used as campaign talking points.
Let it be on record that fabricating stories every blessed day will not brighten anyone’s electoral chances in 2027. The people will judge based on facts, performance, and credibility — not on WhatsApp rumors and sponsored falsehoods.
We therefore urge Eric Ikwuagwu and others in his echo chamber to desist from this campaign of calumny. Abia deserves responsible politics, not mischief.
The public is advised to disregard this report and treat it as idle gossip and a distraction from people who are bent on creating confusion and disaffection.
