Protest Rocks Oyo Over Abduction of Teacher, Students

Residents in Oyo State on Wednesday took to the streets over the recent abduction of students and teachers in the state.

In a video circulating on social media, the protesters were seen and heard chanting “Bring back our children,” “Bring back our teachers,” and “Free our children and teachers”.

The protest is currently ongoing in Ogbomoso, where residents expressed frustration over rising insecurity and economic hardship, accusing the government of failing to protect lives and improve living conditions.

Some could be seen bringing down billboards and banners of President Bola Tinubu.

The protest followed the recent abduction of dozens of pupils and a teacher during coordinated attacks on three schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Reports also has it that that the abducted teacher was later beheaded by the attackers.
