Rochas Okorocha, former governor of Imo, has sued the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for publishing the name of Hope Uzodimma, Imo governor, as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Imo west senatorial district ahead of the 2027 poll.
Other respondents in the suit are Uzodimma and APC.
The originating summons was filed on August 13, 2026 at the federal high court in Abuja by O.J. Aboje, counsel to Okorocha.
Okorocha was governor of Imo state from 2011 to 2019 and senator from 2019 to 2023.
He contested the APC senatorial district ticket with Uzodimma in May.
Williams Kayode, chairman and returning officer of the 2026 Imo APC national assembly primary election committee, declared Uzodimma winner of the contest with 230,464 votes.
