Hon. Iheanyi Frank Chinasa (Dogo Bende), Agu Bende 1, has emphasized the importance of cultural festivals in driving socio-economic transformation.
The Chief Liaison Officer of Abia House Abuja stated this while celebrating the biennial Ila Oso Uzuakoli Carnival. According to him, “Culture remains a veritable and strategic tool for driving sustainable development, community cohesion, and global recognition,”

Hon. Chinasa noted that the Ila Oso festival promotes unity, preserves heritage, stimulates tourism, creates jobs, and attracts investments, hinting that the festival is currently being considered for adoption by UNESCO as part of its African Heritage Programmes, which could boost tourism and accelerate development in the area.
He commended the organizers and people of Uzuakoli for preserving the festival, reaffirming his commitment to supporting cultural heritage initiatives that drive development, peace, and prosperity.
The event highlighted the potential of culture to transform communities and promote global recognition.
The event which was attended by many distinguished dignitaries including renowned philanthropist, Hon.Chief James Umeh (Ike Abam), Hon. Uchenna Okoro Kalu, Majority Leader, Abia State House of Assembly, Dr. Christopher Okoro, Rector Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic Aba and Chief Chinasa Umeh, showcased the rich cultural heritage of Uzuakoli.
