The Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has felicitated with Muslim faithfuls in Abia State and across the country on the occasion of this year’s Eid el Kabir celebration.
In a goodwill message to the muslim community in Abia in particular and Nigeria in general, Governor Otti described Eid el Kabir festival as an important Islamic celebration that draws Muslims everywhere closer to Allah, and enjoined them to see this year’s celebration as an opportunity for reflection and renewal of their fath in Allah while embracing those noble virtues that can impact humanity positively.
According to the Governor “Eid el Kabir celebration is a festival to commemorate those sacrificial acts of altruism and humanity manifested by Allah, and which impacted his followers positively, therefore his followers are expected to see this celebration as yet another opportunity for reflection and renewal of their fath in Allah, while embracing those noble virtues that can impact humanity positively.
“We must tenaciously uphold and continually pursue those causes that would at all times engender peace, unity and security, while ensuring that justice is done to all men, irrespective of their religion and ethnicity, as that is the foundation of Allah’s exemplary lifestyle on Earth”, the Governor submitted.
Finally, Governor Otti, on behalf of the Government and good people of Abia State, sent his warmest felicitations to the Muslim community and prayed that their celebration will be filled with peace, joy, happiness and enduring memories.
