Professor Abubakar O. Sulaiman, the Director General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) has been applauded by Governor Alex Otti of Abia State for his intellectual legacy and commitment to building democratic capacity across the country.
Governor Otti, represented by Hon. Iheanyi Frank Chinasa the Chief Liaison Officer, Abia State on Thursday gave the commendation during the 60th birthday celebration and public presentation of publications by Professor Abubakar O. Sulaiman.
The event was held at the prestigious Transcorp Hilton, Abuja
and graced by distinguished personalities, including Former Senate President Ahmed Lawan, The Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ọjájá II), Representatives of Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, alongside other eminent Nigerians from various sectors of society.
Delivering the goodwill message on behalf of the Government and People of Abia State, Hon. Chinasa congratulated Professor Sulaiman for reaching this significant milestone, describing him as “a beacon of intellectual excellence whose scholarship and leadership continue to shape the nation’s democratic institutions.
He added that Professor Sulaiman’s “illustrious career stands as a remarkable testament to the power of knowledge, leadership, and service.
“His distinguished contributions to governance, democratic development, and institutional strengthening have left a lasting imprint on Nigeria’s political and academic landscape”. He said.
The congratulatory message also reads;
