The senate committee on ethics and privileges, headed by Neda Imaseun has dismissed the petition submitted by Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, lawmaker representing Kogi central, against Senate President Godswill Akpabio. On Wednesday, Akpoti-Uduaghan tendered a sexual harassment petition against Akpabio on the floor of the upper legislative chamber. The committee rejected the petition, citing breaches of due process and legal limitations. The Rivers State House of Assembly has summoned the Chairman of the State Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC, Justice Adolphus Enebeli (retd.), to appear before it within 48 hours regarding the conduct of the 2024 local government elections.
