A group under the aegis  Ohafia Youth Association has protested against the quality of representation by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, member representing Abia north senatorial district in the red chambers.

The group also criticized the senator for soliciting for their votes in 2027 general election after allegedly tagging their community Indigenous People of Biafra zone (IPOB )zone in the last general election.

The protest exercise on Wednesday climaxed at the police zonal command, zone 9 in Umuahia, Abia state.

The group were seen with placards with various inscriptions such as: OUK stay away from Ohafia, OUK stop threatening us with security agents etc .

According to Mr. Chika Nnate, the Ohafia Youth Association PRO, the protest is in respect of the petition labelled against their community by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu in the last election, which was said that he allegedly labelled their communities in Ohafia, Abia North as IPOB zone which he said denied over 150,00 people their franchise in the last senatorial election.

The group also claimed that senator has equally given them bad representation in the red chambers as no significant impact has been made in the lives of Ohafia constituents.

Speaking further to journalist about the protest, he said senator Kalu is currently seeking their attention since the 2027 election is around the corner.

‘’You cannot label us IPOB and want to campaign in our land, we don’t have a single project in the name of Orji Uzor Kalu in our land. He never empowered any youth in Ohafia. He never worked any road that is up to one kilometre in Ohafia’.
