The National Executives of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP)
has inaugurated a 5-man caretaker committee to take over the affairs of the party in Abia state and strategize ahead of 2027 election.
The latest development comes as the tenure of the previous administration Chaired by Hon. Okezie Kingsley elapsed and created a vacuum as all the state and local government executives has been dissolved.
The party’s national executives conducted the Inauguration exercise on Saturday at the party’s secretariat, 32 Abiriba Street, Umuahia, Abia State Capital.
The Party’s National Southeast Vice Chairman, Hon. Peter Okafor and Hon. Sunny Kanu, National financial secretary of the party conducted the Inauguration exercise which gave the emergence of the 5-man caretaker committee for Abia State PRP.
The inaugurated members of the caretaker committee are:
- Chairman – Engr. Dr. Daniel
Ndem. - Secretary – Anaga Olugu.
- Organizing Secretary- Nze
Obioma Ogwuma. - Woman Leader – Mrs kindness
Uloma Orji. - Youth Leader- Emmanuel Ugorji.
During the event, the former chairman of the party, Okezie Kingsley handed over all official documents to the newly inaugurated caretaker committee members as he also congratulated them and assured of his support to keep the party moving in Abia State.
According to Hon. Okafor, the newly inaugurated committee members are saddled with responsibility to manage the party’s affairs for the next seven months when the state congress will be held.
Hon. Okafor said the party’s leadership at the national level is determined in strengthening the party’s presence in Abia state as the newly inaugurated committee members are saddled with the responsibility of resolving internal conflict and preparing the party for the next election.
Hon. Okafor also added that the development is expected to bring new energy and directions to the party in Abia state ahead of 2027 election.
