The Media Office of Mayor Lucky Obinwa Igbokwe, House of Representatives Aspirant for
Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency has debunked the claim that Lucky Igbokwe has stepped down from from contesting the position.

This current position of the All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant was contained in a press release made available to CANDID REPORTERS on Saturday.

RE: FALSE CLAIMS OF MAYOR LUCKY OBINWA IGBOKWE STEPPING DOWN FROM HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES RACE

The attention of the media office and supporters of Mayor Lucky Obinwa Igbokwe has been drawn to false and misleading reports currently circulating on social media alleging that Mayor Lucky Obinwa Igbokwe has stepped down from contesting for the position of Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency.

We wish to categorically state that this information is entirely false, baseless, and the handiwork of desperate individuals attempting to mislead the public and create unnecessary political tension.

Mayor Lucky Obinwa Igbokwe remains fully in the race, also remains the People’s Choice and has not withdrawn, stepped down, or entered into any agreement to abandon his aspiration. His commitment to offering quality representation, inclusive leadership, and people-oriented service to the constituents remains unwavering.

While we acknowledge and respect ongoing conversations around equity, zoning, and political balance within the constituency, it is important to clearly state that no official position of the party has declared the House of Representatives seat exclusively zoned to Umuahia North or micro-zoned to Ohuhu as being falsely portrayed in certain quarters.

It is also important to remind the public that political offices within the constituency have historically rotated across different blocs without hostility or division. When the Governorship position and Abia Central Senatorial seat went to Ibeku, no one raised objections or attempted to create unnecessary tension. In the same spirit, political engagement should remain democratic, peaceful, and people-driven.

The attempt by some individuals to spread fake news about Mayor Lucky Obinwa Igbokwe’s withdrawal is nothing but a failed strategy aimed at confusing supporters and influencing public perception ahead of the party primaries.

We therefore urge party faithful, supporters, delegates, and the general public to disregard the false claims and remain focused on issue-based politics.

Mayor Lucky Obinwa Igbokwe remains committed to his aspiration and continues consultations across Ikwuano, Umuahia North, and Umuahia South with the vision of delivering purposeful and effective representation for the people.

Signed:
Media Office of Mayor Lucky Obinwa Igbokwe
House of Representatives Aspirant
Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency
