The Abia State Government under the leadership of Governor Alex Otti has extended heart felt condolences to the family of late Dr. Uzoma Nwaubani, a medical expert which has been described as a compassionate and exemplary medical practitioner.
Late Dr. Uzoma had returned from the United States with her husband and daughter to offer her medical expertise free of charge to citizens as she encountered a health emergency that left her in the cold hands of death.

CONDOLENCES ON THE SUDDEN DEMISE OF DR. NWAUBANI
I received with shock, the passing of one of our highly treasured ANPA(Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas) medical experts who was part of the ongoing Medical Mission in Abia State, Dr Uzoma Nwaubani, after a brief illness.
She had returned from the United States with her husband –a true son of Abia and her daughter, a final year medical student in the US to offer her medical expertise free of charge to citizens of our dear state, a sacrifice that marks her out as a compassionate and exemplary medical practitioner, alongside other ANPA volunteers.
She developed a medical emergency and was taken to the hospital where a dedicated team of ANPA and local medical experts worked in synergy to provide her with immediate critical care.
However, despite the gallant efforts of the highly skilled medical team to resuscitate her, she could not make it.
I hereby wish to express my deepest sympathy to the family, loved ones as well as commiserate with the Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas.
Our thoughts and prayers are with her husband and family. We are in communication with her family and the ANPA leadership and remain committed to providing support to her family as well as the Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas during this trying time. We wish to commend the family of Dr Nwaubani, and ANPA for their brave decision to allow the mission to continue despite this sad loss. The government will stand with the family and provide all necessary support to ease their grief at this unfortunate period.
Abia state government under my watch will continue to prioritize the health and well-being of our citizens as well as visitors to our state.
May the Lord grant her gentle soul and those of all faithfully departed, eternal repose.
