The leadership of the Abia Rejoice Movement (ARM), the flagship political structure of former Minister of State, Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, received the member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Obi Aguocha, on a courtesy visit to the movement’s state secretariat headquarters in Umuahia.
Rt. Hon. Obi Aguocha and his team (Obi Aguocha Frontliners) were received by DG of Abia Rejoice Movement, Barr. Uche Ezeibe and other top members of the ARM, Hon. Aguocha first commended the organizational structure and strong grassroots reach of the Abia Rejoice Movement, noting the movement’s presence and engagement with people at the grassroots.
The federal lawmaker disclosed that he had been in discussions with the leader of the movement, Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, who, according to him, gave him his blessing to engage with the leadership of ARM.
Aguocha used the occasion to highlight some of his achievements and interventions since assuming office, particularly those targeted at improving the welfare and development of constituents across Ikwuano, Umuahia North and Umuahia South.
Among the initiatives he listed was a scholarship programme currently benefiting about 700 students from the three local government areas. He also cited the installation of about 3,000 solar lights across the constituency.
He further highlighted his legislative efforts, including a bill seeking the establishment of a Federal Medical Centre in Ikwuano, which he said is awaiting presidential assent, as well as a bill for the establishment of an Institute for Geo-Science and Mining.
The federal lawmaker called on the leadership and members of the Abia Rejoice Movement to support his bid for re-election in the 2027 general elections, while also appreciating the movement’s continuous support for the administration of Governor Alex Otti.
He stated his commitment to a collaborative governance structure where elected representatives and political office holders across the different tiers of government work together for the betterment of the people.
According to Aguocha, he has been working with the Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, on some state projects within his constituency to ensure that the people are not left out of the state’s development agenda.
He added that the governor’s administration has ensured that the people of Ikwuano, Umuahia North and Umuahia South are having a feel of the infrastructural development taking place across Abia State.
Responding, the leadership of the Abia Rejoice Movement, led by its Director-General, Barr. Uche Ezeibe, assured Rt. Hon. Obi Aguocha that the movement would align with the direction of its leader, Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah.
The Secretary/Administrator, Hon. Godwin Okorie, and other leaders who spoke during the meeting similarly assured the lawmaker of the movement’s readiness to work in line with the position of its leader, who, they noted, is open to working with progressive-minded individuals committed to the development and advancement of Abia State.
