Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, has warned against being deceived by rumors linking him with the Abia gubernatorial candidacy of Nigeria Democratic Congress(NDC) for the 2027 election in the state.

In the statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday, he warned that the “claims are entirely unfounded and should be disregarded in their entirety”.

Read full statement below:

The Ogah dynasty is a distinguished and extensive family lineage rooted in Onuaku, Uturu, within Isuikwuato Local Government Area of Abia State.

It has come to the attention of the public that certain circulating reports and speculations are falsely linking Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah to an alleged gubernatorial ambition under the platform of the NDC for the 2027 Abia State governorship election.

For the avoidance of doubt, these claims are entirely unfounded and should be disregarded in their entirety. Dr. Uche Ogah is not associated with, nor has he authorized, endorsed, or expressed interest in any such political arrangement or candidature as being circulated.

It is further clarified that Dr. Uche Sampson Ogah does not have any interest in contesting under the NDC. He is also very committed to supporting the leadership and development vision of Abia State and remains a full supporter of Dr. Alex Otti, the Governor of Abia State.

Furthermore, he calls on all Abians to continue to support the reelection of Dr. Alex Otti in order to sustain and strengthen his ongoing good initiatives and development efforts in the State.

Members of the public, political stakeholders, and media platforms are strongly advised to refrain from disseminating or amplifying misinformation of this nature. It is important to verify information through credible and official channels before drawing conclusions or making public assertions.

We therefore urge the general public to distance Dr. Uche Ogah from such speculative political narratives and to respect the integrity of his name and family heritage.
