Hon. Chinasa Visits Nigeria Immigration Service, Solicits More Opportunities for Abians

Hon. Iheanyi Chinasa Frank, the Abia State National Assembly Liaison Officer has solicited for more employment opportunities for Abians at the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS).

Hon. Chinasa made the quest during a courtesy visit to the NIH headquarters in Abuja.

During the visit, Hon. Chinasa engaged with senior NIS officials of the service including ACG Echefuna L. Anugwa and ACG A.K. Ademola, on critical issues relating to the employment of Abia youths in ongoing and future recruitment exercises.

The courtesy visit discussion was focused on:

  1. EQUITABLE REPRESENTATION

Ensuring fair representation of Abia indigenes in recruitment exercises.

  1. AWARENESS CAMPAIGNS

Educating prospective applicants on recruitment procedures and requirements.

  1. SUPPORT FRAMEWORK

Establishing a support framework to facilitate the application process for qualified candidates from Abia State.

Key resolutions from the meeting include:

  1. STRENGTHENING COLLABORATION:

Strengthening collaboration between the Abia State National Assembly Liaison Office and NIS to ensure fair representation.

  1. AWARENESS CAMPAIGNS

Launching awareness campaigns to educate prospective applicants.

  1. FORMAL COMMUNICATION CHANNEL

Establishing a formal communication channel between NIS and the Abia State Government.

  1. DEDICATED RECRUITMENT HELP DESK:

Proposing the creation of a dedicated recruitment help desk to assist Abia applicants.

The Nigeria Immigration Service reaffirmed its commitment to a fair and transparent recruitment process, ensuring equal opportunities for all qualified candidates, including those from Abia State.

On his part, Hon. Chinasa said “Abia State Liaison Office will continue to engage relevant stakeholders and monitor developments to maximize employment prospects for Abia indigenes in federal agencies”.
