The scheduled “Yoruba Nation” protest to hold in Lagos on Saturday took place as announced by the protesting groups.

Candidreporters.com gathered that crowd of agitators who converged at the Gani Fawehinmi Park, Ojota area of Lagos for the rally were diapered by police shooting in the air, also using water Cannon and teargas to disperse the crowd.

The agitators held placards, with inscription such as ”No going back; Yoruba nation now,” they shouted.

The rally is to press for their demand for an independent state for the south-west region.

Traditionalist in fiercely attire were also among the protesters.

The Lagos state commissioner of police, Hakeem Odumosu, was addressing journalists when the crowd became threatening.

The protesters, who fled the scene in different directions, regrouped at the bridge also at Ojota.
